Putu messaged an hour before pick-up to say the weather was perfect and he’d be waiting at my villa gate. On time, smiling, just as excited as me to start the adventure. First stop: breakfast at my favourite spot, Canvas Café in Sanur. Fluffy omelette, crispy spinach, bacon on the side. Over coffee, Putu ran through our two-day itinerary and costs again to confirm I was happy — calm, organised, no rush. After breakfast we went to grab my boat tickets. He’d chosen the D'camel Fast Ferry (D'camel Fast Ferry | Lembongan Fast Boat Transfers), a company with a spotless safety record, which instantly eased my “what if” travel brain. Down at Sanur Harbour, Putu stayed right by my side, making sure check-in went smoothly. Then came a surprise — at no extra cost through his contacts, he’d included a VIP top-deck seat on the boat to Nusa Lembongan. The ride was unreal: Mount Agung on the horizon, clouds drifting, a cold Bintang in hand. Arriving at Lembongan felt like sailing straight into a postcard — turquoise water, colourful boats, and the stunning Mushroom Bay.
